CANCELLED – CONCERT & MULTI SENSORY ART MAKING INSPIRED BY ARTIST HAEGUE YANG

In response to recent news around Coronavirus (COVID-19), it is with an over abundance of caution that the museum has decided to cancel this program. The museum will remain open to the public free of charge on this day from 10 AM – 5 PM. For more information, please click here.

 

A free, monthly IDEAS program created to engage families with children of all ages in activities that encourage conversation, exploration and experimentation through art. Activities include a ‘Design Challenge’, action guides for gallery exploration, as well as special guest artists or performances. Admission is FREE throughout the day to all visitors on Family Days.

EUNMI KO, PIANO
Hailed as “excellent” and “kaleidoscopic”, pianist Eunmi Ko performs throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Sought after collaborator of new music, she closely works with living composers and new music ensembles. She is Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida and co-advisor of New Music Consortium at USF. Ko is co-founder/director of unique piano trio Strings and Hammers. SINI VIRTANEN, VIOLIN
Praised for her exquisite tone and impassioned playing, award winning Finnish violinist Sini Virtanen holds a doctorate degree from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Mikhail Kopelman. She is co-founder/director of new music ensemble Strings and Hammers and Trio Ramifications. Residing in Finland, Virtanen is an active teacher and performer who concertizes around Europe and the United States.

KENNETH J. COX, FLUTE
Hailed as “superhuman” by Cleveland Classical, Kenneth J. Cox has performed across North America and in twenty countries throughout Europe and Asia. He is winner of numerous national and international competitions, and has been on albums recorded through Mark Records and Naxos Classical Music Label. Currently completing for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Contemporary Music at Bowling Green State University, he holds MM and BM degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the University of South Carolina.
