Workshops @ The Bass | Poetry Field Day

Participants will begin by touring Jack Pierson: The Miami Years, gaining insight into key themes that will inform their artworks. Following the tour, guests will be divided into small groups to create their own individual collages using materials provided by The Bass.

Once the collages are complete, each group will use typewriters provided by Chris Pineiro to explore the Exquisite Corpse method–a collaborative and surrealistic technique–and transform their individual works into a collaborative poem. Each participant will contribute text to build a shared piece, with the session concluding with an opportunity for groups to present and reflect on their final collaborative poems.

Workshops @ The Bass are created for adults ages 21+ at any skill level. All materials are provided. The class is $15 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers.
