Lecture + Society Jazz Night
Kick off Friday, January 9 at The Bass with Lecture: Ricky Riccardi — The Life and Music of Louis Armstrong from 5:30–6:30 PM, where the Director of Research Collections at the Louis Armstrong House Museum and two-time GRAMMY Award winner offers an illuminating look into Armstrong’s artistry and impact.
Then,l walk outside to Collins Park for Society Jazz Night featuring Steven Bernstein’s Millennial Territory Orchestra with special guest vocalist Carla Cook from 8:00–10:00 PM, an open-air concert known for bold arrangements, unstoppable groove, and the joyful, high-energy sound of Bernstein’s nine-piece ensemble. Both events are FREE with RSVP, with open-lawn seating (bring blankets or chairs).
