Souvenir Everything x The Shop

Thursday, Apr 17
6:00 pm
- 9:00 pm

Pop Up Event

Join us at The Shop for a special Pop Up Event welcoming Souvenir Everything, through May 5, 2025.

Souvenir Everything is an extension of the artists’ 2024 Miami Art Week exhibition held in Downtown Miami. In this unique pop-up, the artists, Studio AF, and A1A reinterpret the installation’s themes into collectible merchandise only available at The Shop at The Bass.

In Souvenir Everything, the artists redefine the idea of souvenirs beyond commercialized trinkets, presenting keepsakes as quirky physical representations of personal memory. The repositioned objects encourage visitors to see Miami not just as a polished destination, but also as a multilayered, living landscape.

Instead of mass-produced trinkets, Souvenir Everything presents the collected remnants of Miami’s overlooked textures and discarded objects, elevating particular and familiar visuals from everyday life in the 305.

While browsing conceptual artifacts, visitors can take a peek at our community’s vibrant culture through a peephole installation built into The Shop environment. The project invites visitors to become “souvenirists,” to acquire and carry a memory and lived experience with the representative object.

Souvenir Everything challenges normative expectations of what deserves to be remembered, elevating the overlooked, the ephemeral, and the passing observer, all playing their part in constituting Miami’s evolving identity.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Luna Elortegui is a Miami-born / Argentine multidisciplinary artist. She works across various physical mediums, exploring the relationship between characters and their environments while experimenting with contrast. She documents spaces through photography and video through her process, acting as both an anthropologist and archivist who examines how objects, places, and histories shape identities. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in London with a BA in Fashion and Print Design and enjoys a background in Design and Fine Arts from Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH).

Isabel Gonzalez is a Venezuelan-born artist whose work explores the relationship between physical space and the subconscious. Combining her architectural background with sculpture, she creates site-specific installations, integrating physical movement that merges with both ancient and contemporary themes. She holds an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Arts and a degree in Architecture from the Architectural Association.
