Summer Art Camp

Ages 5 - 12 | Monday - Friday | 9 AM - 3:30 PM

Our most popular program returns this summer beginning June 11, now in the new Creativity Center! Designed for children ages 5-12, Art Camp at The Bass is led by professional museum educators, teaching artists and certified M-DPS art teachers. Campers will make a one-of-a–kind STEAM inspired projects and learn through fun, hands-on art activities in sculpture, painting, design and more. Sign up for one week or the whole summer!

Members (Dual/Family & above): $200 per week
Non-members: $250 per week

Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks.

Aftercare is available each day for Summer Art Camp participants! You may drop your child off as early as 8:30 AM with no additional charge, and can pick up as late as 6 PM for an additional charge of $10 per day.

Galaxy Art

Tie-dye, splatter and spin paint as you learn about outer space and all things planets!

Ages 7-12
Street Art

Learn about street art from around the world! Then, develop a large scale painting in the style of underground art.

Global Art

From Mexico to Tokyo, travel around the world to learn about the artists, art traditions and techniques of different cultures.

Ages 7-12

Create art from natural materials as well as art inspired by nature. Make prints on paper and canvas with ink and natural materials.

Art and Nature

Explore the great outdoors, while gathering material to make art with. Find art in nature, and nature in art!

Art Lab: Science and Art

Learn about art making methods through science! Mix, create and explore the magical world of science in this camp session.

Ages 5-6
Under the Sea

Learn about what happens in the depths of the ocean in exciting week of camp. Explore different types of paint and 2D surfaces to create your own underwater sea atmosphere.

Ages 7-12
Pop-Up Sculptures

2D becomes 3D in this introduction to paper engineering and sculpting. Explore how to use paper through a variety of projects, from pop-ups, paper dioramas, geometric shapes and cut paper landscapes. Experiment with different techniques while also learning fundamentals about design, color, composition, texture, shape, and narrative.

Mixed Media Mashup

Using a variety of material, plan and build your own piece of art.

Ages 7-12
Painting Exploration

In this camp session, explore various tips and techniques to apply paint to a unique surface. Learn about traditional and exploratory methods of painting.

By signing up for this program you agree to the museum’s program policy. There are no refunds. A credit is available for cancellations made 48 hours in advance of class and can be applied to other classes, pending availability. Fees will not be returned for failure to attend without notice. The Bass reserves the right to substitute instructors without notice. The museum is not responsible for any artwork or personal items lost, stolen or left in the classrooms. All Bass programs are organized for educational purposes and offers programs and activities to everyone without regard to race, religion, national origin or sexual preference. All Bass programs follow the Miami-Dade County School District’s schedule for inclement weather. Students and parents must respect the rights of other students and staff or they will be asked to leave the camp and forfeit tuition.


Summer Art Camp is funded by The Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County by making strategic investments in their future.
