After a highly celebrated exhibition debut in 2024, artist Eli Sudbrack, of the multidisciplinary collective assume vivid astro focus (avaf), returns to The Bass to reflect on the success and continuation of assume vivid astro focus: XI, a kaleidoscopic installation that blurs the boundaries between art, performance, and film.

Moderated by Claudia Mattos, Associate Curator of New Media at The Bass, this vibrant conversation will share the origins and evolution of XI, discuss avaf’s practice of inclusion, collaboration, and experimentation, as well as the role of exhibitions as a platform to create immersive environments to foster community and expression.

The conversation with the artist will be followed by a performance by Tiffany Fantasia and friends in the XI gallery. The performance is recommended for ages 18 and over.
