Workshops @ The Bass | Collaboration Reframed: Exploring Photo and Material Play with Eva Llarena

Saturday, Feb 21
1:00 pm
- 3:00 pm

Sculpture Workshop

Collaboration Reframed: Photo & Material Play draws inspiration from the maximalist, collaborative world of assume vivid astro focus (AVAF). The workshop begins with a guided tour of AVAF’s installation XI, inviting participants to discuss how the artists use color, pattern, and collaboration to transform the gallery into an immersive, sensory playground.

Following the tour, participants will take part in a Polaroid photoshoot within the exhibition space, using the installation as a vibrant backdrop. These instant photographs become the starting point for a hands-on making session, where participants create custom photo frames using mixed media materials. Through layering, pattern-building, and playful experimentation, each frame becomes a personal response to AVAF’s visual language.

By the end of the workshop, participants leave with a one-of-a-kind framed Polaroid—a physical takeaway that captures not only an image, but a shared moment of creativity, conversation, and connection.

Workshops @ The Bass are created for adults ages 21+ at any skill level. All materials are provided.

The class is $15 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers.
