Young artists will develop a portfolio of artwork while building technical skills through weekly group instruction, led by teaching artists, that explore different mediums, techniques and tools for art making.

February 03 — Self Portraits
This class focuses on facial anatomy and the essential practice: drawing from life.
February 10 — Understanding Technique
This class focuses on tips and tricks for a beginner painter. Students will practice the skills accumulated with acrylic paint.
February 17 — Mixed Media
Using a photograph, students will experiment with collage and painting.
February 24 — Transforming 2D to 3D
Students will have an opportunity to select their favorite artwork and bring it to life by using 3D building techniques.
March 03 — Atmospheric Painting
Learn how to paint with dimension by viewing landscape painting from around the world.
March 10 — Relief Sculpting
Students will look at the works of the masters in our permanent collection gallery, and create a relief using a scene from their life.
March 17 — Color Application
The science behind color theory and how to apply it to your paintings.
April 07 — Printmaking with Linocuts
Students will learn and exercise the art of monoprinting using this reductive method in printmaking.
April 14 — Open Studio
Students are encouraged to bring in unfinished work, and get tips from the teacher to create a polished, portfolio ready, work of art.
April 21 — Documenting Artwork
This class is geared toward students looking to learn how to document their artwork for a portfolio.
April 28 — Student Exhibition and Class Party
Celebrating the act of creating in this final session of the spring semester.
