SPRING ART CAMP

4-12 YRS

Enroll your child this spring break in Spring Art Camp at The Bass! Taught by professional museum educators, teaching artists and certified M-DPS art teachers, campers will learn creative art skills through fun, hands-on art activities in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, collage, performance, photography and more. Sign up for one day, or all five!

COST
Members (Family/Dual or above): $40 per day ($200 for the week)
Non-Members: $50 per day ($250 for the week)
(Optional) Aftercare: $10 per day*

*We know the work day is longer than our camp. You may drop your child off as early as 8:30 a.m. for no charge. Aftercare is also available until 6 p.m. for an additional charge of $10 per day.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required! Meals are not included and campers should bring their own lunch and snacks.

MUSEUM PROGRAM POLICY – PLEASE READ

Ages 4-6

  • March 26 — Creatures of the Land and Sea

    Explore the creatures that roam the earth. Campers will make their own animal and environment using mixed media.

  • March 27 — Patterns and Printing with Nature

    Using fabric, paint and ink, campers will create a large scale piece of art using patterns and prints found in nature.

  • March 28 — All About Me

    What makes you, you? Using images of their favorite things, campers will create a piece of art that celebrates their uniqueness.

  • March 29 — Book Making

    Campers will make and bind their own book using a story that they create.

  • March 30 — Paper Mache Animals

    Using 3D art making, campers will bring drawings of animals to life with recycled paper.

Ages 7-12

  • March 26 — Industrial Art

    Campers will create functional pieces of work, like a backpack, a pair of shoes, or even a piece of jewelry.

  • March 27 — Surreal Portraiture

    Create an alternate you! In this session, campers will study famous surreal portraits and make a painting of an alternate version of themselves.

  • March 28 — Character Creations

    From comic books to graphic novels, each story is based on characters. In this camp session, campers will create original characters and develop a story using images.

  • March 29 — Realistic Drawing

    With a variety of drawing tools, campers will learn technical tips and tricks to enhance drawing skills.

  • March 30 — Dreamscapes

    Combining drawing and painting, campers will create surreal landscapes using their wildest imagination.
