The Bass Scholarship Program

ART CAMP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Our goal is to offer camp scholarships to the children of our community, regardless of their ability to pay. At The Bass, we believe art-making is a catalyst for creativity and growth, and with your help we hope to impact as many children as possible through our scholarship program. We always accept ongoing donations towards the scholarship fund.

WHO QUALIFIES?
Scholarships are available for children who meet one of the following criteria:

  • Financial Hardship: Families eligible for the federal free or reduced lunch program or those who can provide one of the following:
    • Free or reduced lunch form from the child’s school.
    • Letter of qualification for SNAP benefits.
    • Most recent tax return showing the child as a dependent.
  • Children with Disabilities: Self-reported through questions on the scholarship application. No additional documentation is required.
  • Children Involved with Community Agencies or Programs:
    • Children involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Our Kids, Full Case Management Agencies, dependency and/or family courts.
    • Children involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Juvenile Services Department, and/or diversion/Civil Citation programs.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Each scholarship covers the full cost of attending Summer Art Camp at The Bass, valued at over $1600 per child. This includes all camp activities, art materials, bussing, and aftercare if needed.

FREE TRANSPORTATION

Free bus service is available to and from the museum for 5 weeks during the summer.

The bus pick-up and drop-off location will be at ConnectFamilias:

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Complete the Application Form – Available online or in-person at The Bass.
  2. Submit Required Documents – Proof of eligibility is required for financial hardship only.
  3. Review and Notification – Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and recipients will be notified by email.
