Summer Art Camps

JUNE 10 – AUGUST 16
9 AM – 3:30 PM (late-pick up available until 6 PM)*
Ages 5-12

Designed for children ages 5-12, campers will make a one-of-a-kind STEAM inspired projects and learn through fun, hands-on art activities in sculpture, painting, design and more.  Art Camps run weekly from June 10 to August 16, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 3:30 PM, with early drop-off and late-pickup available. There is no camp on Thursday, July 4th. Lunch and snacks are included, although campers may bring their own. Sign up for one week or the whole summer!

$250 per week
Members (Dual/Family & above): $200 per week

*EARLY DROP-OFF & LATE PICK-UP
Early drop-off and late pick-up are available each day for Art Camp participants! You may drop your child off as early as 8:30 AM with no additional charge, and can pick up as late as 6 PM for an additional charge of $10 per day.

Using 3D art making, campers will bring drawings of animals to life with recycled paper and materials. Campers will develop their own story accompanying their puppets.

Pop-up Sculptures

2D becomes 3D in this introduction to paper engineering and sculpting. Campers will explore how to use paper through a variety of projects, from pop-ups, paper dioramas, geometric shapes and cut paper landscapes. They will experiment with different techniques while also learning fundamentals about design, color, composition, texture, shape, and narrative.

MUSEUM PROGRAM POLICY
There are no refunds. A credit is available for cancellations made 48 hours in advance of class and can be applied to other classes, pending availability. Fees will not be returned for failure to attend without notice. The Bass reserves the right to substitute instructors without notice. The museum is not responsible for any artwork or personal items lost, stolen or left in the classrooms. All Bass programs are organized for educational purposes and offers programs and activities to everyone without regard to race, religion, national origin or sexual preference. All Bass programs follow the Miami-Dade County School District’s schedule for inclement weather. Students and parents must respect the rights of other students and staff or they will be asked to leave the class and forfeit class fees.

 

Summer Art Camp at The Bass is funded by The Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County by making strategic investments in their future.
