[Virtual] Bass Intermediates

THURSDAYS
FEBRUARY 18 – APRIL 8
3:30 – 4:30 PM (ET)
Recommended for ages 9 – 12

This all-new, all-inclusive program focuses on children interested in developing their skillset and features live, weekly video instruction with museum educators for interactive learning, with simple step-by-step directions and packaged art materials for each weekly art class. Students will explore color mixing, observational drawing/painting, the fundamentals of line, shape, color, value, pattern/texture and proportion/scale. Virtual classes meet every Thursday at 3:30 PM for eight weeks. Fall classes begin on February 18.

Each week, our trained teachers guide 60-minute tutorials featuring painting, drawing and 3D design projects. The art session features a carefully crafted art package containing all needed materials for this art session.  Art materials can be picked-up from the museum or, for an additional fee, can be shipped throughout the U.S. via USPS or couriered locally via Uber Connect!

At the end of the session, family and friends are invited to attend the virtual student exhibition. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO PARTICIPATE 

  • Internet access
  • An internet-connected device with audio and video capabilities, such as a computer, iPad or tablet

General registration closes on February 20, or when classes fill. Space is limited and classes fill quickly. Registration includes access to weekly Zoom classes and packaged art materials. To receive your materials:

  • Pick-up in person from the museum*
  • Have them shipped for an additional fee, per student**
  • Request contactless courier service for local orders***

LISA QUINN
Education Program Manager, The Bass
Instructor | Ages 7-12

Lisa Quinn has had a lifelong passion for art education and has acquired over 14 years of experience in museum education practices and studio art education in New York City and Miami. Ms. Quinn is committed to exposing the benefits of visual arts to all ages, and has been with the museum since March 2016.

*Materials can be picked-up from the museum, Monday through Friday, 12-4 PM starting January 14, 2021, at the Creativity Center entrance located at 2121 Park Avenue.
**We use USPS Priority 2-Day Flat-Rate Large Box Shipping. Orders for shipping are only available to the contiguous 48 states.
***Local orders may be eligible for contactless courier service through Uber Connect, subject to additional fees. Price varies based on distance from the museum and cannot be arranged online. MUSEUM PROGRAM POLICY

Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, The Bass will be flexible with refunds for classes that students/families are unable to attend. Please reach out to us for requests or questions. The Bass reserves the right to substitute instructors without notice. The museum is not responsible for any artwork or personal items lost, stolen or left in the classrooms. All Bass programs are organized for educational purposes and offers programs and activities to everyone without regard to race, religion, national origin or sexual preference. All Bass programs follow the Miami-Dade County School District’s schedule for inclement weather. Students and parents must respect the rights of other students and staff or they will be asked to leave the class and forfeit class fees.
