3 - 6:00 PM
COLLINS PARK
FREE MUSEUM ADMISSION
Join us on Sunday, April 7, The Bass’ official 60th birthday for our picnic celebration!
Gather with our friends and neighbors from 3 – 6 PM for a spirited outdoor birthday celebration and delight in cultural performances, live music, picnic areas and FREE art activities for all ages.
Bring your most creative, elegant and Miami Beach-themed picnic setup for a chance to win! Colin Cowie, American lifestyle advisor, author, interior designer and party planner, will join us as a special guest judge for the Best Picnic Setup contest.
Unleash your inner artist at one of our scheduled art making activities. Drop by the Giant Loom at any time and help us weave a community Bass Blanket. Stop by the Creativity Center Teen Board lemonade stand to cool off while you browse their artwork on sale, or explore STEAM art activities with Moonlighter Fab Lab.
Inside the museum, check out The Bass Teen Board’s annual Teen Art Exhibition. Explore artwork by local teen artists inspired by this year’s theme: Culture. Stay for the announcement of prizes for the juried exhibition and celebrate our community’s young artists.
Enjoy outdoor concerts by Fellows of the New World Symphony, Young Musicians Unite and DJ nosocials. Sip and chill at the Dry Farm Wines Rosé Garden, or browse and shop artisanal vendors including Little River Flea, Noeli Morejon, Jorge Rafael Calderon and Patrick Oleson. At The Shop Popup, see featured works by Brigette Hoffman, Karen Starosta and Maru Jensen. Plus, stop by The Humane Society of Greater Miami and consider adopting a pet!
Be sure to stick around for our Happy Birthday kick-off celebration of 60 years of contemporary art at The Bass.
Seating is first come, first served in Collins Park. Parking is available at the municipal Collins Park Parking Garage, located at 340 23rd Street.
