WINTER ART CAMP

4-12 YRS

Enroll your child this winter break in Winter Art Camp at The Bass! Taught by professional museum educators, teaching artists and certified M-DPS art teachers, campers will learn creative art skills through fun, hands-on art activities in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, collage, performance, photography and more. Sign up for one day, or all four!

COST
Members (family/dual or above): $40 per day ($160 for the week)
Non-Members: $50 per day ($200 for the week)
(Optional) Aftercare: $10 per day*

*We know the work day is longer than our camp. You may drop your child off as early as 8:30 a.m. for no charge. Aftercare is also available until 6 p.m. for an additional charge of $10 per day.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required! Meals are not included and campers should bring their own lunch and snacks.

MUSEUM PROGRAM POLICY – PLEASE READ

Ages 4-6

  • January 02 — Mask Making

    Artist Pascale Marthine Tayou uses ordinary objects to enhance his masks. In this camp session, we will learn about masks from around the world and how they are made.

  • January 03 — Fantastic Creatures

    Get wild with your imagination! Learn about all sorts of critters and creatures, and you will create our very own 3D creature!

  • January 04 — Mixed-Up Media

    Drawing, painting, collage and sculpting, are just a few of the materials you will use in this camp to create a masterpiece using a variety of media

  • January 05 — 3D Building Design Challenge

    Create a building, a house or even a city, in this 3D art making session.

Ages 7-12

  • January 02 — Super Imposed Photography

    Using digital photography, create an alternate universe by combining photography and drawing.

  • January 03 — Artistic Atmospheres

    Explore environments from around the world and create a landscape painting of your atmospheric choosing.

  • January 04 — Off the Walls: An Exploration in Street Art

    Students will learn about the different types of street art and artists and will develop a largescale painting in the style of underground art.

  • January 05 — Board Game Design Challenge

    Create your own game in this camp using various art material. Take this game home and play it with your friends and family!
