ART CARES: COMMUNITY ART THERAPY OPEN STUDIO
In-person Family Day returns to the museum on Sunday September 26. During this special Family Day, The Bass hosts ART CARES: COMMUNITY ART THERAPY OPEN STUDIO.
The Florida Art Therapy Association and The Bass stand with the entire South Florida community as we strive to find healing after the building collapse in Surfside. This Family Day we invite you to be part of our special open art therapy studio event on Sunday, September 26th from 12pm-5pm. Join us in using the healing power of art-making to share feelings, offer support, and cultivate moments of peace.
Certified art therapists will be available to support and guide visitors through art experiences, including an opportunity to add to a Wall of Healing. Music therapists will further enhance the setting with carefully curated live performances.
Due to social distancing guidelines please note that attendance may be limited. The art therapy studio is part of Family Day, a day of community programing at The Bass. In the event that the courtyard studio reaches capacity, visitors will be encouraged to visit the museum galleries or enjoy Collins Park while awaiting access to the art therapy studio. No previous art making experience is necessary and pre-registration is not required.
