Teen Studio Art Sessions

The Bass Teen Studio is a closed-series studio program for middle and high school teens who want space to make, experiment, and connect through art. Developed in partnership with the Police Athletic League of Miami Beach (PAL), this program creates a safe, welcoming environment where teens can express themselves, build confidence, and explore their creativity alongside peers.

Each session offers open-ended projects, quality materials, and light guidance from a professional facilitator, encouraging teens to follow their interests and work at their own pace. Whether participants come to focus quietly or collaborate, the emphasis is on exploration, self-expression, and enjoying the creative process. No pressure, no grades, no prior art experience — just a consistent studio space designed for teens.

Artist-grade art materials are included with the class, and a suggested shopping list is available for those who want to keep creating at home.

TEEN ART EXHIBITION

The Bass Teen Board’s annual Teen Art Exhibition offers teens in the greater Miami region the opportunity to showcase their artwork at The Bass, Miami Beach’s contemporary art museum. Drawing inspiration from the lived experiences and perspectives of young people today, the 2026 Teen Art Exhibition’s theme is “Time.”

Time can be understood as both a measurable force and a deeply personal experience. It shapes how we grow, how we remember, and how we see ourselves and the world around us. Time can move quickly or slowly, feel fragmented or cyclical, and shift in meaning as we age, especially during adolescence, when change often feels constant.

On Thursday, March 19, The Bass Teen Board celebrates the many ways teen artists interpret time, whether as a personal memory, a physical process, a shared experience, or an abstract idea. Through this exhibition at The Bass Creativity Center, we aim to highlight how young artists capture moments, transitions, and the ever-evolving nature of time in South Florida and beyond.
