Curator Culture: Out of Time

On Sunday, May 23, audiences joined featured guests farid rakun of ruangrupa, Ana Garzón Sabogal of Más Arte Más Acción, and Camila Ramírez of INSTAR for Curator Culture: Out of Time, moderated by Leilani Lynch, The Bass Curator, and Tom Healy, The Bass Public Programs Curator.

In a time of crisis, upheaval and emergency, what if the world is too much of a blur for us to see?

How do curators think about time? Can they—should they—try to anticipate the moods and questions of the moment? Do art exhibitions have a shelf life? With planning that often takes years, is there a risk of major exhibitions being irrelevant by the time the public sees them?

Watch our conversation with the curatorial collective ruangrupa (artistic directors of the upcoming documenta fifteen) and members of their network, Más Arte Más Acción, and INSTAR to discuss what art matters most—and when.
